PressuRITE can provide 2 types of refrigerant-sensed "head pressure" control:
1. Air Cooled Condenser Head Pressure Control
Note: The
PressuRITE PR-204
can provide "fan cycle head pressure control" OR the
The
PressuRITE PR-205
can provide "fan cycle head pressure control" AND the This method is typically used to operate condenser fan(s) on large air conditioning (20 Ton & Up) and refrigeration units of all sizes where ambient or load conditions require it... ie: where outdoor temperatures depress to where constant condenser fan-driven heat exchange is detrimental (creating extreme low refrigerant temperatures) to the compressor system when the indoor conditioned space or box needs to be maintained continuously and is not necessarily time-base in its operation. Examples are: hospital and medical clinic MRI housing labs, conference/convention halls, restaurants and refrigeration equipment that operates in extreme winter environments, 24/7 environments of any type needing constant indoor/in-box temperatures regardless of outdoor ambient, etc. 2. Water Cooled Condenser Loop Control This method is unique and special to"Water Cooled Heat Pump-Type" water condenser loops that supply the condenser water to the heat pump equipment via a fluid cooler or evaporative cooler pump system. This type of HVAC system is prevalent in high-rise residential buildings, commercial tenant buildings and retail/commercial facilities of all types world-wide. In this case, PressuRITE manages the heat pump equipment's inability to detect condenser water conditions that might adversely affect its operation... such as high water temperature causing extreme head pressure safety "trip" or no water delivery to the condenser loop casuing the same condition. PressuRITE senses the high refrigerant pressure at a point "lower than the internal equipment temperaure/pressure trip point" and shuts the unit off prior to the internal safety trip... thereby eliminating labor intensive and inconvenient manual re-set of the equipment in order to get it to run normally again. It then allows the unit to run again once pressure is resrtored to normal parameters via ON/OFF set-points. The OFF & ON set-points are selectable and there is a timing ramp (selectable as well) that coincides with the OFF set-point which prevents needless excessive cycling of the equipment's compressor and repeated nuisance trips in the event the water condition has not been detected or corrected. The ability of PressuRITE to control water cooled condenser loop equipment saves labor AND parts/equipment costs because it stops a problem from occurring that is inherent in water-source heat pump systems. Additionally, the inconvenience factor to the tenant is completely eliminated. PAYBACKS can be substantial depending on the number of water source heat pumps in each system after manual re-set & equipment-check labor is taken into account, parts failures are factored in and shortened compressor longevity is considered. Tenant inconvenience is effectively eliminated through the use of PressuRITE in these circumstances |
